Mae 2010 Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru yn cael ei chynnal yn Y Gwaithfeydd, Glyn Ebbw, Blaenau Gwent  - 
31 Gorffennaf  i 7 Awst .

The 2010 National Eisteddfod of Wales is being held in The Works, Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent -  July 31st to August 7th.




Beth yw'r Eisteddfod?

Mae Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru yn wyl arbennig sy'n rhoi cyfle i ymwelwyr fod yn rhan o ddalthliad o ddiwylliant Cymru.

Oeddech chi'n gwebod yr Eisteddfod gyntaf wedi cael ei chynnal yn Aberteifi nol yn 1176?  Wedyn cafodd ei hadfwyio yn 1861 yn Aberdar ac mae wedi cael ei chynnal yn ei ffurf bresennol ers hynny.

Mae'r Eisteddfod yn un o wyliau mwyaf y byd, ac yn cyfrannu'n fawr at ddiwylliant a threftadaeth Cymru trwy ddenau tua 160,000o ymwelwyr bob blwyddyn.  Mae'r Eisteddfod hefyd yn rhoi hwb mawr i'r iaith Gymraeg a'r celfyddydau, ac yn Iwyfan i rai o berfformwyr mwyaf talentog Cymru  -  Mae Bryn Terfel, y bariton enwog o Gymru yn um o gyn-enillwyr yr Eisteddfod!


What is the Eisteddfod?

The National Eisteddfod of Wales is a major festival which provides an opportunity for visitors to be part of a convivial gathering to celebrate Wales' wealth of culture.

Did you know that the first Eisteddfod was held in Cardigan back in 1176, but was revived and held in its present form in Aberdare in 1861?

The Eisteddfod is one of the world's greatest festivals, and one of the oldest manifestations of Welsh culture and heritage that attracts around 160,000 visitors annually.  It also plays an important role in the life of the nation by promoting the Welsh language and the arts.  The Eisteddfod is also a launch pad for Wales's most talented performers  -  the famous Welsh baritone Bryn Terfel is a former Eisteddfod winner!
